August

As every summer I spent all the august in Albacete, specifically in Chinchilla and in Carcelen. The 3rd of august my sister and I took a train from Barcelona to Albacete, where my cousins were waiting for us. We were so excited, every year we spend there is amazing and perfect, so we feel a lot like going there. There are 7 hours between Barcelona and Albacete so it was a boredom and a little bit stressful too. When we got there we inmediatly took the car and went to Chinchilla, my cousin's village. Chinchilla was in fair so it was going to be a good time. When we arrived at their home we took a nap, we were so tired because of the train trip. At 6 o'clock more or less, we went to a tent where there was music. We were there until the sun went down. We had dinner and we went to the bus stop to wait for some friends, when they were with us, we went to the party. We had a great time.
The days after, we did almost the same, we went the tents in the afternoon and we went out at night. The last night was the best night, we had a really amazing time with all my cousin's friends, and it was a really good end of fairs.
The 8th of august we went to Carcelen, there I saw all my friends, cousins and family. I always feel very well when I am there, people is very different from here.I had a week to rest from everything, during this week I went out with my friends, we went to the pool, etc. The fair started the 19th, every year the fair starts with a serenade to pick up the queen and his ladys (in my village every year, when girls are 18 they become the queen and the ladys of the fair). So that night we pick up the court of honor and after that we went to the party. The 20th there aren't events to celebrate, but we went out at night. The 21th was the presentation of the honor court, at 7 p. m. everybody was in the castle of the village to wait for the ladys and their companions. It is always a beautiful event. After that we went to have dinner at my cousin's house because it was her birthday, later we went to the party. We spent all the 22th preparing our costumes and our float to the 23th parade. This year we dress up as a "sevillanas". The 23th was the parade day, the day when the fair actually starts, the days before the 23th are the prefair days. On the 23th we finished some details of the float, we prepare some foods and drinks and we went at 4 p. m. next to the church to start the parade. We had a great time, it was very fun, as every year. We went home to prepare ourselves for that night. Every year at 23th night there is a torch race in the mountain, all the runners have to climb the mountain, and go down to the middle of the mountain with torches where the race starts. It is a beautiful view and one day I'll do it. Every 24th at 8 a. m. comes to the village a band to wake up all the people, so after the race, we went to the party and we ended with the band, it was so cool. The 24th we did a contest of potatoes with eggs and it was all very tasty, although I was very tired. The 25th we participate on another contest but this day it was of paella, I think we did it pretty well. The 26th there was a medieval fair and we spent the day there. The 27th was the end of the fair, this day I was so sad but at the same time I was happy for the great time I had. Every year to end the fair, there is a traditional "somarro" which is when people light a fire and put potatoes in it to roast it, also people get wet in the fountain.

I always enjoy going to Carcelen, I love being with my friends and my family there.

Does Melania sounds like Hillary?

Donald Trump has been acusated of sexual assault by some women. Melania, Trump's wife talks against this acusations, she said that she knows that his husband is kind and he doesn't do anything to women, she said he is only defending himself.

Mrs Trump said that this rumors were organized by the opposition, in other words, by Hillary Clinton.

This news says that both Mrs Trump and Hillay Clinton are acused of shaming other women. It says that Trump ridiculated Natasha Stoynoff saying that the journalist asn't too atractive to sexualy assault, but Clinton ridiculated another woman too.

Juanita Broaddrick accuses Mr Clinton of raping her and Mrs Clinton of silence her.

Personal opinion

Honestly I don't know what to think or who believe because none of them have prove all that things they said. I think that bot Trump and Clinton have to stop attacking each other and focus on their election campaing.

Positive and negative things about Trump
Trump said that he wanted to change the political establishment, in another words, to change the people who rule considering that always have ruled, the Clintons, the Bushes..
On the contrary, he is sexist, homofobic, and xenofobic, I think that someone like that can't rule a country.

She has been involved in some troubles with some e-mails.
She has experience in politics

Portbou

As I said in another your say I spent three days in Portbou with some friends last summer.

Everything started on the 22nd of July, I woke up at 8 o'clock to take the bus to Figueres, when I arrived there I went to the supermarket where my friends were. We bought a lot of food because we were a lot of people and we were staying in the same house for three days. After that we went to the train station to take the train to Portbou.We were all very excited, it was going to be a perfect time. When we got there we put the food in the fridge and we prepared the beds, I had never been at Judith and Esther's house so I didn't know how it was. When I saw how small it was, the first word that came to my mind was "stress", it was so tiny for all the people we were.

After preparing the house we went to the beach, we jumped out of the port and we went to a plataform in the middle of the water (by the way, it was so cold).

We had lunch and we had a nap. After that we went for a walk to the village, at 9 o'clock more or less we went back home to have dinner. We had dinner and we went out to the party. We spend all night dancing and having fun.

The next morning we woke up at 12 and we went to the beach to clear our heads. We went back and we had lunch, after that, we took a little nap and we went to the beach to sunbath. When we went home, we prepared ourselves and we went out to the party again.

The next morning we woke up and we had lunch, we went to the beach for last time and we took the train again to go to our respective house. I didn't want to end all these days, it was so perfect.

I spent great time with my friends and I hope next year will be just as good.

My summer

Summer is the best season of the year, the good weather arrives, there is no high school, no obligations, and you can do whatever you want whenever you want. I think this summer has been my summer, the best summer ever, but  this is what I say every year when summer ends. As every year I went to Camping Almata with my family and some friends to celebrate "St. Joan" there. This year, I invited Fatine and Esther to the camping to spend the night with Xana and I. It was so great, we went to the beach to watch the fireworks, and then we stayed there dancing and having fun.

At the beggining of July I went to Mas Nou camping with Esther, Judith, Xana and Fatine and we had a great time together, we went to the pool, we talked about a lot of things...

From 22 to 25 of July, Zaira, Joana, Fatine, Xana, Monica, Pau and I went to Portbou, to Judith and Esther's house to be together at the fair. It was so stressful, but also so great. I'll explain it in another entry.

 As every summer I spent all of August in Albacete, in particular the first weekend in Chinchilla and the other three in Carcelen. I went to Chinchilla to be at the fair there with my cousin's. We had a great time, but in the end I was very tired because the fair lasts one week and we went out every night without stopping. After this intense week I went to Carcelen to meet my friends and family. I rested one week and the fair started again. I always enjoy it a lot when I go to Carcelen, I have good time with friends and family, I go to the pool, I go out, I take part in some contests...

In brief I think that summer has been the best summer ever, I did a lot of things with my friends, I laughed a lot, I rested from school.. I hope next summer is even better.

This song is from rage against the machine and is their first song. I've chosen this song because although it says the same sentence like 10 times in the same verse, it's a very revolutionary song, because it's against the racism and discrimination from people who is powerful like the police and politicians. In other words is an anti-abuse of autorithy.
When they say Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses I think they want  to say that all the people who works for the state, like lawyers, judges, policemen, etc. is abusing from the citizens because of their autorithy. When they say And now you do what they told ya I think they are saying that since the citizens are afraid from the autorithy, they would to anything said by someone "powerful".

This song was actually a speech from Haile Selassie, who was an ethiopian president. Haile Selassie said that in front of the united nationes in California in 1968. I've chosen this sog because it talks about the causes of the war, and it says that this causes are discrimination and racism.
In the first verse I think that Bob Marley wants to say that if people keep discriminating other people, war will never ends. When he says that the human rights are the same for everyone, he says that no matter what is your skin colour, nor your sexual orientation nor religion... The human rights have to be the same for everyone.
I think that song talks a lot about social inequality and racial problems

Women Are Told To Wear High Heels And More Makeup By Employers, To Look ‘More Appealing’ At Work

This news talks about that it's still existing the sexism in work, either because women are told to put on more makeup or wear high heels.

Most of the women feels that her employers doesn't treat women and men in the same way. Also, when her employers said something like that they feel like they're gonna lose her job because of her clothes, so they don't feel good with that. 

There was a study by employment law experts, who asked 2000 after the number of people who have been told to change their apparence increased. 50% of men said that his collegues comment more about how women dress than men. Josephine Van Lierop, Slater and Gordon's lawyer said that there was a lot of employers who think that women have to dress sexier and more provocatively, she also said that this kind of sexism is usual in some workplaces like financial services or something like that.

There is a dress code that allows the employer to say his employees how they have to dress, but it musn't be discriminatory.

To sum up, more women think that they are underestimated by his employers than men.

Personal opinion

I think that nowadays this sexism shouldn't exist or at least would have to be almost gone. It's true that depending on the workplace, the employees, have to meet minimum requirements, but women don't have to dress sexier to attract the clients, they just have to be decent, like men.

I really hope that as time goes by, this sexist mentality end.

Presentation

Hello Eli!
As you know, my name is Paula and I'm 16. I have always lived in Empuriabrava, in the same house and obviously with the same people, my family. I have two siblings, one brother, David, and a sister, Carlota. My brother is 11 and he is in his first year of high school, and my sister is 14 and she is in 4 eso. My father Ramón,  works as a fireman and my mother, Marian works as a carer in a school with an autist boy. 
This summer has been the best summer ever. I spent the july here, and I did a lot of things, I went almost every day to the beach (I love going to the beach, and sunbathing in the sand), I went to Aquabrava with my friends, I went to the "karting", also with my friends. Also, I spent 3 days to Portbou with my friends and I went camping with them too. In august, I went to my mother's village in Albacete, Carcelen. Every year I go there on main festivities, and every year I have great times with my family and my friends. I do a lot of things in Carcelen too. My friends and I participated in a lot of contests, like doing the best "paella" or the best huge sandwich. Also, we went to the pool,  to the mountain, and in the night we hang out to the only pub in the village.
Well, I've already explained you my summer, so I'm going to talk about my future. Now, I'm studying 1st of scientific batxillerat because I want to do something related to biology, like farmace, biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, etc. I really have high expectations about this year but I also think that it's going to be stressful, and hard. In that few days of class I've already noted the change from ESO to batxillerat, so I think that it's going to be very different because the teachers know that you are doing batxillerat because you want, so they do the units that they have to do for the PAU. 
Although it is going to be difficult I want to get the batxillerat with the best mark I can get.
