The secret of why we like to eat chocolate

This news was published the 24th of February in the BBC by Dr. Michael Mosley.
It starts saying that he loves chocolate, he can't control how much he eats or when stops eating it. He says that apart from its nice taste, there is something else that makes chocolate so irresistible.

Chocolate is made from the thing that is inside of cocoa beans. This thing is known as baba de cacao and it's sweet, acidic and very sticky. When this baba de cacao ferments it releases some chemical compounds that combined, create some chemical signature that our brain loves. Chocolate also contains a lot of psychoactive chemicals that in our brain feel like the effect of drugs like amphetamines, caffeine or cannabis.

One thing that gives us much pleasure is the fact that it melts when you put it in your mouth. Finally, the thing that makes chocolate irresistible is the amount of sugar and fat that it contains. The doctor matches these amounts of sugar and fats with the sugars that breast milk contains and maybe the brain is just trying to recapture the taste of human breast milk.

Personal opinion
I can't really give my opinion because I don't like chocolate, but I like nutella that is the same. I only can say that eating this kind of food is very delightful but very bad for our body. I  wish that some day scientist invent something good for our body and delicious as nutella, chocolate or other sweets.

Ebola vaccine shows promise for gorillas and chimps

This news was published on the 10th of March in the BBC news. It talks about how ebola affects gorillas and what scientists can do to solve this problem.

This news starts talking about how many gorillas have died because of this disease. It says that these animals are endangered because of poaching, so if we can avoid additional deaths from disease why can't do it? So, a group of scientist have created a vaccine to prevent gorillas from ebola.
First of all, the vaccine was tested on 10 gorillas in the University of Lousiana Lafayette and it worked ,so scientists thought that it was the time to give the vaccine to all gorillas. Mr Walsh is looking for a way to put the vaccine in wild gorillas, he says that they can give them the vacine in sweets, or they can put it in a spray.

Lize Macafie, vice chairperson of the International Union for Conservation Nature's said that it will be difficult to provide the vaccine to all the apes because not all of them are used to being with humans, and maybe the vaccine won't work in the same way in all apes. But it has to be done, otherwise, gorillas and apes will be more endangered.

Personal opinion
I think that's a really good idea because the animals in danger of extinction are in danger for many causes so, if we can avoid one of these causes, then there will be more animals of this species. On the other hand I think that this would be very difficult because not all the animals are trained to be with humans, and if a man goes and injects something in a gorilla, maybe the gorilla won't be very kind!

UN: World facing greatest humanitarian crisis since 1945

This news was published today in the BBC news.
This piece of news talks about the humanitarian crisis that's affecting the world, specifically it talks about 4 countries, Yemen, South Sudan, Nigeria and Somalia.
This news starts talking about how many people, are starving, 20 million people and 1,4 million children could starve only this year. Mr O'brien told that the UN has received 90 million dollars in 2017 and there were generous pledges.
In Yemen a child dies every ten minutes from a preventable disease and two thirds of Yemen's population is in need of some kind of humanitarian help. The poor government, the lack of rule of law and the under-development create problems for the people that want to help the country.
In the Southern Sudan 40% of the people need food and nutritional assistance, there are the same impediments and in addition the president, Salva Kiir, has been blocking all the aids that are being sent.
In Nigeria the situation is quite similar to the other two, but in Nigeria there is an extremist militant group, Boko Haram, that has killed approximately 15000 people and has forced 2 million people to leave. It's for Boko Haram that a lot of aid agencies can reach the country to help them.
In the last place, there is Somalia that because of the lack of water 6,2 million people are in urgent need of help. The attacks by Islamist militant groups are responsible for the lack of help that is reaching Somalia.
Personal opinion
In my opinion I think that the people who live in these countries are the strongest people in the world. They are constantly fighting with hunger, and extreme conditions. Most of these countries are in the middle of a war and they are losing family and friends and they still have hope and strength to live. I think that if every country could donate some money, food, or some basic needs, conditions in these countries could be better. I truly admire these people and I hope one day everything that makes people suffer ends.

My future

The future is uncertain, unstoppable and for sure that it will be pretty different from what you expect. I'm going to explain to you how it would be in my perfect future.
In my perfect future I would be very rich, so rich that I wouldn't have to study anymore, with that money, I would travel with Fatine, to every country in the world. We would go to 5 star hotels but also we would have houses distributed in the 5 continents to stay there when we want to be quiet. We would have a lot of dogs and animals, and we would help everyone who would need it. This would be my perfect future, but since this wouldn't happen because money finishes I'm going to explain you something a little bit more realistic.
My future will start tomorrow, I will continue my studies and I will finish batxillerat, hopefully with good marks. I will do selectivity and I will pass it with good marks, my goal is to get a 12 in selectivity to study biomedical science, but since that is quite difficult I will be content with a 10 to enter in some career connected with biology. Before I'll start the career I will take a sabbatical year to travel with my friend Fatine. Since we aren't rich and we won't be in 2 years, we will use workaway. Workaway is a site to travel cheap, it localizes people that need some kind of help and people who wants to travel, so the hosts publish what kind of help they need and what they give in exchange, so the thing is, you can travel around the world only paying the flights and working with a family a few hours a week, in exchange they would let you stay in their house or they would pay you a hotel and they would give you something to eat. We will have to work hard in the summers to save money to cover the flights and we will be travelling for a year. After this amazing trip, we will start our career, as I said before I will study something related with biology because in the future I want to work on a laboratory discovering new solutions to end illnesses. In my years in college I will live in a flat in Barcelona with my friends. When I finish my career, I will take another sabbatical year to travel to celebrate that I finished my studies. After this year, I will start working in some biological lab and I will discover the solutions to many illnesses. From then I'm not very sure about what will happen, maybe I'll have a husband and we will raise a family, or maybe I'll keep living with my friends. One thing I know for sure is that I want to travel as much as I can, and that I will have a dog.

As I said before, this can o can't happen but it doesn't matter, the only thing I want for my future is to do the things that I want and be happy.
